Vale Architects, an Australian studio (engaged in marketing in the hospitality industry) even prepared the Instagram Design Guide. The main idea is that Instagram now plays a leading role in the success of the hotel industry projects, and therefore it has a direct impact on it. "Give your guests a visual sense of amazement, creativity, and pleasure from the moment they enter your space – this is the best way to overtake competitors in social media."
Have you ever thought about whether people want to take photos at the entrances of your buildings? Or in the courtyard of your residential block? And maybe next to the sales office or near the construction fence? Your space must be so unique that everyone wants to take a picture and share it with the world in social media.
Let's see where your customers like to be photographed.
Such objects are mostly very photogenic. People particularly like artificial grass sculptures or topiaries for making pictures.
Those can be art objects, street art elements, or large voluminous letters of a residential block name near the sales office or on the territory of an already built residential complex.
As you know, in this case not photo shoots are a goal, but any interesting event is just a wonderful news hook. Hold master classes in the sales office or in the free territory nearby, organize events at the construction site itself (on the final stages of construction). This method has been often used by Brusnika – remember, for example, their Dialogues in Kandinsky, a sensational project in Yekaterinburg. By the way, it is there where a photo shoot session of Alena Doletskaya, editor-in-chief of Interview, took place.
What do you need for a successful selfie? That's right – a great mood! And maybe a special stick or a good mirror. Install mirrors with unostentatious hashtags or logos which will make people want to take a picture in the sales office or in public spaces.
Do not forget that natural and artificial light can have an effect on whether your guests will want to be photographed or take pictures in a certain space. A lamp for selfies in a demo apartment? Also possible!
A double effect can be obtained if you do not just paint the facades or areas near the office but attract famous people to this process or use trend tips. For example, Pokras Lampas, an artist from St. Petersburg, surprised with his collaboration with Lamborghini, Fendi, Tretyakov Gallery, Atrium, and Krasny Oktyabr.
And not so long ago, 3D-drawings on the asphalt were in fashion, which, in fact, were created for effective pictures.
If all the above doesn't work to make people poet on Instagram of their own free will, then let's organize contests. There are many examples and only a lazy one doesn't conduct them.
There are projects with a hashtag as well: residents without any contests are happy to share their photos in the scenery of the sweet courtyard: for example, #жизньвбруснике (#LivingInBrusnika).
Even a demo apartment space can be a scenery for photos: interesting drawings on the walls, furniture made of unusual materials, humorous elements. If your client smiles, then they will want to share their emotions with others.
Are your partners conducting an event where you can install an info desk? Forget all trite variants and create a location where everyone will want to be photographed!
When your brand is witty or touching, people will want to share it. This summer, I stayed in one very nice hotel in Barcelona and... I wanted to take pictures of everything there.
It's important for people to share their emotions and feelings, and if earlier "word of mouth" served to do it, now it's been replaced by the world of Instagram. Use all the opportunities and occasions to be there and set trends for competitors.
